The Multiverse of Infinite Realities
The end of the beginning or the beginning of the end. These are tough times we're in, and therefore what better time to reintroduce the The Multiverse of Infinite Realities, a big open book of ideas, an encyclopedia of world-building content, a veritable universe of anecdotes, insights, and narratives about the multiverse, where fantasizing about a better place is the whole point.
A rather bold claim considering the amount of content currently online, but we are speaking in generalities across multiple timelines, in which many of them, if not ours, contain petabytes of data pertaining to the exploits, intrigue, and daily grind of our cadre of protagonists, the caretakers of travel, the mechanics of flow maintenance, the Agents of Retrieval.
Alphazett is a repository for almost any creative piece or artifact that needs a place to live and not be filed away and forgotten. Over time, ideas generally float, sink, or fade away, and what rises to the top, gets incorporated here and there, first as a name or destination, then eventually in a flashback or short aside. Everything melds and recombines, and never the same way twice. The ideas evolve and so do the stories. Everything is always in flux.
Let us not forget that nothing is truly infinite, including the universe, and that matter itself must eventually die in order to be reinvented once more. It may spontaneously transform, or require assistance from an Angel of Death, such as the Medusae, but in the end we aren't even dust, just a random soup of sub-particles awaiting reconfiguration.
StoryCard
Medusae
Agent of Destruction
A legendary creature of pure malevolent energy that travels through outer space in immense, invisible swarms and whose arrival signals the end of the universe.
"Elusive, undetectable, and yet their impact has reverberated through eons. All it took was one catastrophic, multi-universal, cluster annihilation of billions of timelines to give them a bad rap, but it's not the Medusae's fault. They're just dumb animals. The question everyone should be asking is what sent them." - Prof. Gen. Irwin Nerdlinger
A new beginning supposes an earlier ending, such as The End of The World, brought to you by a swarm of invisible electric jellyfish that vaporize everything they come into contact with, not only turning matter to dust, but negating it, thereby starting a chain reaction that left unchecked will eventually collapse the entire universe. As we are still here, it would seem that someone or something has been checking.
